‘Cows’ is an example of what happens when you drive the entire state of Kansas in one felled swoop. Pretty soon a songwriter has no other option but write just to stay awake. After driving for 10 hours I noticed there were rarely cows on the right side of the road. So the cows on the left side of the highway won out.  And no, this is not a political satire.... although I've considered making it one.
